Donald’s appearance at the Write Highland Hoolie in Mallaig went down a storm, with a full house in attendance.

Donald was in the West Coast fishing village to talk about lighthouses and his latest book, For the Safety of All. The Hoolie was an opportunity, as Donald put it, to "mix and mingle with some amazingly talented people, both musicians and writers, all hosted by the remarkable Polly Pullar.”

Speaking afterwards, Donald said: “My thanks to those who attended both my and the many other events at the Write Highland Hoolie in Mallaig this weekend. It was a pleasure to be in the company of such wonderfully creative individuals - in musical, literary, artistic and even culinary terms.”

He was pleased his event went so well and said it was fantastic to share a stage with Breege Smyth and Gaelic singer Ann Martin.

The Gaelic singers at the Hoolie were supported by Fèisean nan Gàidheal.
